Release Notes 1.3.23

Release Notes 1.3.23

MyGuide has released its brand new version 1.3.23 and in this release, we have implemented a path-breaking feature – Automation along with some minor UI changes and general bug fixes.
MyGuide’s DoItForMe allows playing guides in a self-initiated mode which are created via MyGuide extension itself. If an app task takes you 10 clicks you can now do the same task in one click with DoItForMe. Minimize the laborious human effort with the quick assistance of MyGuide automation, and manage your work intelligently. No extra driver software is needed on your computer to run automation. You just create a guide and we automatically add automation with magic. We stop for areas which require human input. It is all automatic and while playing a guide user can choose DoItForMe mode and we accelerate clicks.

Automation

Any guide can now be automated with just one click and we have brought the power of UI automation to any app that can run in your browser. You can create a guide and run automation via MyGuide.

We have automation enabled on two levels – Guide and Task.
Whichever steps we have to perform with human interaction can now be automated.

Task Automation-

Task automation allows you to create a complete task and automate it via DoItForMe button.

We have to click the button

and select “Automation”

Give a name to the task and submit

It lets you create three types of steps for a task- Inline, Branch and Link Task

The step panel has just three options for “When will this step complete?”

  • On click of selected element
  • On right click of selected element
  • On change of value (for select field)

And in addition to that, we have introduced an Automation section with these options –

  • Enable default data entry – Lets you enter a value after selecting its checkbox
  • Requires human interaction – This option is added for those steps which need individual choices like dropdown or specific text entries
  • Requires screen capture – This feature is under development

When the steps are added, we have to click DoItForMe button so that the task starts running on its own

It will put entries, perform the subsequent actions and will complete the task on its own.

Check out this video to witness the SUPER POWERFUL Task Automation by MyGuide on Salesforce-

Guide Automation-

Guide automation lets you automate specific types of steps, as per our selection from the feature “When will this step complete?”

We have to click the

button and select “Guide”

The guide can be played normally, however, if a guide step is not automated but still gets played from DoItForMe button, then the steps are played in fast forward mode except the steps with the below complete conditions:

  • On click of “Next” button
  • On hover over of selected element
  • On click anywhere on the page
  • On click on a page, pause this guide

It is because the completion of any of these conditions requires human interaction.

When all the steps are added, we need to click DoItForMe button and your steps will be automated.

Minor UI Changes –

“Add Guides” changed to “Guides”

Earlier you were seeing “Add Guide” option after clicking which has been revamped with the direct selection of guide types from the dropdown.

Reset option in the Organization Level Settings

In this new release, MyGuide has added a “Reset” button under the Video Settings in the Organization Level Settings so you can restore the default settings by clicking on

Customize Popup Style

  • New Step Positioning Popup – The positioning availability of the Popup style has changed its look and feel and it looks more attractive now.
  • Customizable width and height option – Earlier the step popup width and height option was just below the step title and description space but from this release, it can be seen under a separate section designed especially for customizing Popup Style, alongside step position popup.

Warning message when guides are published without publishing the parent category/subcategory

This feature is implemented for the creators, they will see this message whenever they will try to publish a guide which belongs to an immediate unpublished category or subcategory.

Release Notes 1.3.20

Release Notes 1.3.20

MyGuide has released its new version 1.3.20 and here is exactly what’s new with this release:

  • Segmentation
  • Guide Translation

Segmentation

With the new release, MyGuide has come up with the guide segmentation feature, which is an enhancement to guide role, where we can perform segmentation based on two filters – Country and City. This feature is enabled on request. And after its enablement, we get a tab in the Guide Settings.
If the user (Country/City/Role) matches with Guide Segmentation settings, it returns matched guides, given that Guide Segmentation option is ON, else, it returns all the guides. At the time of SSO login, parameters of users are matched so customers are supposed to give those parameters (codes) to their respective CSM. Customers are supposed to add a filter if they want a restriction to their users.

Guide Translation

Now, MyGuide enables its users to translate their guides. This feature is also enabled on request. By default, users can only translate a guide from English (any country) to any other language. You have to set the same language at Guide Settings so it can be mapped. We need to publish a guide first with the default and other language selected. Once you select the previously chosen option, the step language will be translated to that one. Although this process takes a certain amount of time, as the file procession will get done first, then the guide translation will start and after that translation button will be visible on the guide level.
Some more things to know about Guide Translation feature:

  • The default language can be anything but it won’t be translated.
  • External APIs are used for translation so the accuracy of the translated language may be compromised.
  • If you select a language and then play in MyShow mode, only the audio will be changed, the thumbnail will remain as is.
  • MyGuide also allows you to record step audio and then translate it. However, uploading audio may not work like this.
  • Users can add up to 20 languages with no duplicate entry allowed.
  • With a different voice, the same language can be added again.
  • If you want to translate old guides, then you just need to unpublish and publish that guide.

New Enhancements in Branch Steps

With the new release, MyGuide has come up with the following new feature additions to Branch Steps:

MyShow for Branch Steps –

Users can select a branch and then slideshow will continue into that branch, they can play select element guides and URL based branch guides in MyShow.

Dropdown and Tree View –

Users can play branch guides in MyShow, as branch steps are now shown as radio options and by clicking on the buttons, MyShow will move to that branch.
Tree View is available on Enterprise Creator and Dropdown is available on MyGuide Player.

Branch Decision

Branch decision popup appears when the user doesn’t follow any branch step or performs the wrong operation. In case the default branch doesn’t play, it will give options to select which branch you want to play

MyGuide Footer Player

This feature is developed because sometimes when we play a guide in MyGuide mode and a step element is not found or in case a particular step is not followed by the other, then the footer player appears with three thumbnails – “Previous Step”, “Current Step” and “Next Step”. We can select anyone to play and continue the guide.

We can select anyone to play and continue the guide.

MyGuide Footer Player is draggable, and the thumbnails can be enlarged.

Improved Message Step

“On click of the tooltip” is the new option added to the “When will this step complete” section of the Message step pane. When this is enabled, and a tooltip is selected, we are able to click on the tooltip, which will then navigate to the next step.
This is going to be very helpful for checkboxes and text boxes. Here, until you enter/select and get tabbed out, you won’t be redirected to the next step.

When disabled –

When enabled –

New Header of Step Panel

In the latest release, MyGuide Step Panel has become more attractive because of its new header which is highlighting the header options like the back button, edit button, and download button

New Features in Guide Settings

In guide level settings, this new option is added to the “Advanced Settings” where you can enable the “Hide previous step” button

Sometimes, a step with both “Previous” and “Next” buttons plays and the user clicks the former, but there is a chance that the element related to the earlier step is unavailable and guide stops, for such times “Hide previous step” button is required.

Now, we can preview the Beacon before it is enabled to a guide

Similarly, we can preview a Tooltip before it is published

Merging in Branching

After the user has created a branch step, he/she can merge multiple branches into one single step such that the branches are interlinked to each other, also, the user can add some more steps in between the merged branch and delete the connections to the single merged branch if not required after which the branch would flow independently. One can only merge a flow tail as only tails have the option to merge.

Link Guide from Other Categories

Earlier, we could link published guides from the same category, but now, we can link published guides from any category throughout the application.

Disable Step Audio

Now we have an option to control the step audio at guide level settings which will overwrite the global audio set up.

History

The history of the guide will show who did what work on that guide.

Organisation Name

Now we can see the name of organisation by clicking on “Me”.

Time Configuration for Push Visibility

This functionality is introduced for the “Close Button” in which we can select the time interval in hours ranging from 0 to 48 so that the push notification will appear only after the set duration.

New Push Notification

We have a brand new push notification design for a single guide.

Tooltip Click Action

For Tooltip guide, a new section has been added which decides the action performed by the tooltip after you click on it.

  • Default: No change
  • Open Current page in MyGuide Panel: If a user clicks on the tooltip, it will open Current Page of MyGuide panel.
  • Open URL: URL can be configured on click of any Tooltip.

On click of selected element

Earlier, while creating inline step, by default “On click of Next” button used to be selected but now “On click of selected element” is selected by default.

Grouping in Rules Engine

Earlier the rules could be grouped together using AND and OR conditions but from now on if each group has a set of rules like Rule 1 AND Rule 2 AND Rule3, the set of rules should be true and saved as a list.

Enable Guide Tracking

By selecting this checkbox, the events happening while playing the guide (for e.g, entering text, clicking on any element) are tracked on the Analytics section. The MyGuide creator remains unaffected by this.

In this release, we have also launched the BETA version of the following features:

MyChat

With the integrated chatbot of MyGuide, get quick help for searching guides. MyChat will promptly respond to your query. It can be minimized and maximized depending upon its usage. This feature needs to be enabled from the Admin section.

MyTeacher

It is an in-app Virtual Lab which gives the user a feel of playing steps on the actual platform just like simulation. We can play the steps and also experience the real-time functionality of any step (for e.g, we can enter text while playing that step on MyTeacher) and the subsequent step will follow. This feature is enabled from the Admin section.

Onboarding Guides

This feature is introduced for announcing the new features/changes for those who are using the specific platform where it will give an annunciation via an image or video. This is also enabled from the Admin section.
